2. Data we collect

We collect the following personal data:

Account data: name, email address and password (stored in encrypted form).
Usage data: subjects, pedagogical preferences, generated materials and class sessions.
Technical data: IP address (anonymised via HMAC-SHA256 hash), user agent, device identifier.
Analytics data: aggregated usage events processed by PostHog (EU server).
Mobile device data (iOS/Android app, optional):

- Camera: only when you actively photograph a whiteboard, worksheet or specific material by pressing the capture button. The image is sent to our server for OCR processing (text extraction) or to attach to your materials. We do not access the camera in the background or continuously.

- Microphone / audio: only when you actively dictate a note, message or query by pressing the record button. Voice recognition runs on the device itself when possible; when processed server-side, audio is transmitted encrypted and discarded after transcription. We do not record audio in the background.

- Photo Picker: the app lets you pick a single photo from your gallery to attach to a material or note. We use the operating system's native picker, which means the app does not have continuous access to your full camera roll: you decide which specific image is uploaded each time.

- Biometric authentication (Face ID / Fingerprint): only to unlock the app locally. Biometric data is managed by the device's operating system (iOS or Android) and never leaves your device; we only receive an "authentication succeeded/failed" signal.

We do not collect special category data (health, ethnic origin, religion, etc.).

3. Legal basis for processing

Processing of your data is based on:

Contract performance: to provide the TeachThemAll service (lesson planning, material generation).
Consent: for commercial communications and analytics cookies.
Legitimate interest: for security, fraud prevention and service improvement.

4. Purposes of processing

We use your data to:

Provide the AI-powered lesson planning service.
Manage your account and subscription.
Process images you capture or upload (OCR of whiteboards/worksheets, material generation) and audio you dictate (voice recognition for notes and queries), only when you initiate the action and only for the time needed to process it.
Send service communications (registration confirmation, password recovery).
Improve the platform through anonymised usage analytics.
Comply with legal obligations.

5. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. Following a deletion request, your data is erased within a maximum of 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.

6. Data sharing with third parties

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We share data with:

Cloudflare: network infrastructure and security.
Neon (PostgreSQL): database hosted in the EU.
PostHog: usage analytics, EU server.
Resend: transactional email delivery.
Apple / Google: IAP subscription management (subscription identifier only).

7. International transfers

All key providers operate within the European Union or have appropriate transfer mechanisms in place (Standard Contractual Clauses).

You have the right to:

9. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: in-transit encryption (TLS), password hashing (bcrypt), role-based access control, audit logs and IP anonymisation.

10. Amendments

We may update this policy at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the platform.
